Tribes receiving federal funds are subjected to a myriad of federal labor laws which impact the relationship between the Tribe and its employees.  The Human Resource Manager/Personnel Manager is responsible for implementing procedures which are in compliance with these federal labor laws. The applicability of the law depends upon the source of funding which the Tribe is using. This seminar will examine in detail the labor laws and employment laws which Tribes face today. Also, it will address the provisions of each law, the implementing regulations, case law about each, relevance to Tribes, and the compliance and policies which can be developed to implement these laws. The seminar will examine employee rights laws, work hour/overtime law, wage issues, employee benefits, non-discrimination law, workplace standards, records confidentiality and others.  This seminar is for Tribal leaders, program managers, compliance staff and human resource management/personnel departments.
